Seara trecută a avut loc cea de-a 78-a ediție a Primetime Emmy Awards. Premiile Emmy se acordă anual celor mai bune producții de televiziune americane. Anul acesta, ceremonia a fost găzduită de actrița Mariska Hargitay și a avut loc în Downtown Los Angeles, la Peacock Theater.
Serialul de comedie „Widow’s Bay” (produs și distribuit de Apple TV) a fost marele câștigător al serii, primind un număr record de 14 trofee din 19 nominalizări. Printre premii se numără trofeele pentru cel mai bun serial de comedie, cel mai bun actor principal într-un serial de comedie (Matthew Rhys), cea mai bună actriţă în rol secundar (Kate O’Flynn), cel mai bun actor în rol secundar (Stephen Root), cel mai bun scenariu (Katie Dippold) şi cea mai bună regie (Hiro Murai).
Drama medicală „The Pitt” (o producție HBO, difuzată pe HBO Max), a câștigat 7 premii din 25 de nominalizări, cel mai mare număr dintre toate serialele din acest an. A câştigat trofee pentru cel mai bun serial de dramă şi cel pentru cel mai bun actor principal (Noah Wyle), pentru al doilea an la rând.
